Apr 29, 2007 · I think the danger lies in chambering the 9×23 in the older .38 super chambers that aren't reamed to headspace properly on the case mouth but rather the semi-rim. FWIW, I had a Springfield Mil-Spec in .38 super and it worked flawlessly with 9×23 ammo. I put maybe 50 rounds through it and never fired 9×23 from it again.
Oct 08, 2007 · I have a .38 Super open gun built be Tim Bacus. Schuemann AET barrel and an Aftec .38 Super extractor. It will run Super, Super Comp, TJ, 9X23 and 9X23 Comp, mixed in the magazine. I load the 9×23 and everything else with an EGW Lee U die and the only pita is sorting before I load because the SC and the TJ load better with a .223 shell plate.
